چکیده

The present study focuses on the use of Corn cob as an effective and efficient adsorbent for the removal of Ni (II) from aqueous solution. The influence of Physico-chemical parameters such as Adsorbent Dosage, Contact time, pH and Initial concentration has been examined in Batch studies. The initial and residual concentration of Ni (II) was analyzed using UVDouble Beam absorption spectrophotometer at 394 nm by which the percentage removal can be calculated. The equilibrium data onto the adsorption of Ni (II) was measured using Langmuir and Freundlich Isotherm model. The results revealed that Corn cob, a waste material have good potential as an adsorbent for the removal of toxic heavy metal like Ni (II) from Industrial waste waters.

The Use of Corn cob Micro Powder as a Low Cost Adsorbent, for the Removal of Co2+Ion from Aqueous Solutions and from the View Point Thermodynamics

Corn cob as a low cost adsorbent was used in the present work for the removal of toxic heavy metal Co2+ from aqueous solutions. Bath experiments were used to determine the best adsorption conditions. The equilibrium adsorption level was determined as a function of solution pH, temperature (T), contact time (tc), initial adsorbate concentration, and adsorbent dosage. Effective removal of metal i...

Extraction of pectin from sour orange and its application as the adsorbent for removal of nickel from aqueous solution: Kinetic and equilibrium study

The present study investigates the potential applicability of the extracted pectin from sour orange pomace as adsorbent for Ni (II) removal from aqueous solution. Pectin extraction from the pomace was carried out using HCl and the highest pectin extraction yield of 26.75% was obtained. The Fourier transform infrared (FTIR) spectroscopy analysis confirmed that the structure of the extracted pect...

The Potential of Date-palm Leaf Ash as Low-cost Adsorbent for the Removal of Pb(II) Ion from Aqueous Solution

This study investigated the feasibility of Date-palm) Phoenix dactylifera (Leaf Ash (DLA) (an inexpensive agricultural-byproduct) as an application to adsorb Pb(II) ions. An adsorption process was carried out to evaluate initial concentration Pb(II) ions, adsorbent dose, contact time, pH and temperature on the systematic removal of Pb(II). The effects were examined and results showed that remov...

Studies on optimization of efficient parameters for removal of lead from aqueous solutions by natural zeolite as a low-cost adsorbent using response surface methodology

In this research, the removal of lead from the aqueous solution was investigated using natural nontoxic zeolite (clinoptilolite) as a low-cost adsorbent in order to reduce human exposure to it. The clinoptilolite zeolite obtained from the Semnan area was characterized by X-ray diffraction pattern, FTIR spectroscopy and scanning electron microscopy (SEM). The central composite design (CCD) defin...
